Albert was born about 1875 in Hurstpierpoint Sussex.1   Albert's father was Thomas STEER and his mother was Annie STEER. He had six brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, Frederick, Thomas, John, Herbert, Charles, Rosa, Alice and Grace.  He was the second youngest of the ten children.
