Abraham was born about 1855 in Kent.1   Abraham's father was Abraham STEER and his mother was Mary Ann STEER. He had six brothers and a sister, named John, Henry, William, Charles, Albert, Frederick and Rosetta.  He was the oldest of the eight children.
