Thomas was born about 1895 in Seacombe, Cheshire.1   Thomas' father was John STEER and his mother was Emma C STEER. He had three brothers and three sisters, named John C, Edward, Frank, Ella, Lucy and Charlotte.  He was the third youngest of the seven children.
