Sarah was born about 1853 in Chiddingstone, Kent.1   Sarah's father was Abraham STEARS and her mother was Mary STEARS. She had four brothers and a sister, named Abraham, John, Ferry, George Thomas and Esther.  She was the second oldest of the six children.
