Violet was born about 1900 in Berry Totnes Devon.1   Violet's father was Edmund Damarell STEAR and her mother was Sarah Ann Luscombe.  Her maternal grandparents are <Unknown> and <Unknown>. She had three brothers and a sister, named Percy, George, Edmund and Ada.  She was the third oldest of the five children.
