Mabel was born about 1900 in Highgreen Yorkshire.1  Mabel's father was Albert Henry STEAR and her mother was Eliza STEAR. She had a brother and three sisters, named Albert Edward, Effie, Sarah Ann and Violet Annie.  She was the oldest of the five children.
