Fanny was born about 1860 in Billingshurst Sussex.1   Fanny's father was William STEER and her mother was Emily STEER. She had two brothers and three sisters, named James, Ernest, Mary, Sarah Jane and Ellen Missie.  She was the oldest of the six children.
