Frank's father was Ernest Letts and his mother was Ellen Winnett.  His paternal grandparents were William Letts and Jane Ward; his maternal grandparents were Mark Winnett and Jane Pulley. He had three brothers and a sister, named William, Albert, Ernest and Eleanor.
