Thomas' father was John Baglin and his mother was Mary Peglar.  His paternal grandparents were Jonathan Baglan and Sarah Stone; his maternal grandparents were John Pegler and Hannah Hicks. He had three brothers and a sister, named John, Mathew, Danuell and Amelia.  He was the third oldest of the five children.
