Jane's father was John Allanson and her mother was Margaret Trail.  Her maternal grandparents were John Trail and <Unknown>. She had three sisters named Hannah, Sarah and Louisa.  She was the second oldest of the four children. She had a half-brother named Richard.  She died at the age of 79 in 1908.
