Magdalena was born on January 19th, 1895 in Tulbagh, Cape Of Good Hope, South Africa and her baptism took place on March 10th, 1895 in NG Kerk, Tulbagh conducted by the reverend.1   Magdalena's father was Thomas Philippus Winterbach and her mother was Johanna Elizabeth Lotz.  Her paternal grandparents were ? Winterbach and Magdalena ?. She had six brothers and six sisters, named Petrus, Thomas, Willem, Willem, Daniël, Nicolaas, Elizabeth, Johanna, Dorathea, Jacoba, Aletta and Jacoba.  She died at the age of 65 on July 5th, 1960 in Addington Hospital, Durban.  She was buried in Durban, Stellawood cemetery.2 3
