Heinrich was born on August 9th, 1961 in Ceres and his baptism took place on February 6th, 1966 in NG Kerk, Ceres conducted by Reverend J.W. Coetzee.¹   His godfather was/is Christoffel Jacobus Geldenhuys and his godmother was/is Heila Maria Geldenhuys.  Heinrich's father is Hendrik Johannes Winterbach and his mother is Elena Alberta Olivier.  His paternal grandparents were Jacobus Petrus Winterbach and Gertruida Magdalena Susanna van der Merwe. He has a brother and three sisters, named Jan, Francina, Margaretha and Elna.  He is the youngest of the five children.
