Adriaan, known as Riaan, was born on December 9th, 1975. Riaan's father was Adriaan (Adri) Hendrik Winterbach and his mother is Tersia Anetta De Lange. His paternal grandparents were Heinrich Adrian Winterbach and Johanna (Joyce) Sophia Bester. He has a brother and two sisters, named Paul, Joanne and Sonja.
