Ann was born on June 7th, 1836 in Chevington, Suffolk. Ann's father was James ORRISS and her mother was Mary HAGREEN.  Her paternal grandparents were Samuel ORRIS and Martha GILLINGWATER. She had five brothers and two sisters, named William, Charles, Robert, Henry, George, Rebecca and Harriet.  She was the second youngest of the eight children.  She died at the age of 60 on July 3rd, 1896 in Balwyn.  She was buried in Boroondara (Kew) Cemetery.1
