Matilda was born in 1880 in Ballarat.1  Matilda's father is Thomas LANE and her mother was Emma Jane TAYLOR.  Her maternal grandparents are Edwin TAYLOR and Matilda TADMAN. She had two brothers and a sister, named George Thomas, Francis Alexander and Emma Jane.  She was the oldest of the four children.  She died at the age of 64 in 1944 in Carlton Nth.2
