Ronald James was born in 1918 in South Melbourne.1  Ronald James' father was Louis Evan GOBBETT and his mother was Doris Elma KICK.  His paternal grandparents were James Lyons GOBBETT and Elizabeth HUMPHRIES; his maternal grandparents are Thomas William KICK and Annie Cecil CHANDLER. He had a brother named Harold William.  He was the older of the two children.  He died at the age of 39 in 1957 in Ballarat.2
