Daniel was born in 1885.  Daniel's father was Daniel John Hishon and his mother was Nora Bridgeman.  His paternal grandparents were William E. Hishon and Frances Langford. He had a brother and nine sisters, named John (Jack), Frances, Annie, Mary, Teresa, Nora, Josephine, Teresa (Tess), Hanorah (Norah) and Agnes.  He was the eighth oldest of the eleven children.
