Mpho's father is Putso Masithela and his mother is Mosadi 1 Oa Putso O/S.  His paternal grandfather was Khomoeamola Masithela and his paternal grandmother is Mosadi Oa Khomoeamola. He has a brother and three sisters, named Abraham, Maki, Sego and Pulane. He has two half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Tshepo, Moeketsi, Mabolenke, Pulepule and Lieketseng.
