  "MR. M. F. HEALY. - ROCKHAMPTON, February 24.
  Mr. Michael Francis Healy, auctioneer, East-street, Rockhampton, judge for the Rockhampton Jockey Club's meetings, ex-Rockhampton representative footballer and ex-welterweight amateur champion of Central Queensland, died in the Mater Hospital at 4.45 o'clock yesterday afternoon. Although the end was not unexpected, Mr. Healy was stricken down suddenly, for a week previous he was about the city in the best of health.
  Deceased was born in Rockhampton 33 years ago, was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Healy, and was educated at the Christian Brothers' College. Leaving school, he entered the service of the Railway Department in the Traffic Manager's office, but two years later joined tlie firm of Messrs. John McFarlane and Company, auctioneers and commission agents. Messrs. H. V. Brumm and Co. secured his services and for two years he worked in the interests of that firm as a sheep and cattle buyer in the west.
  An enterprising man, Mr. Healy commenced on his own account in East-street and having extensive experience, he soon built up a nourishing business. Mr. Healy was engaged in the auctioneering business when taken ill. A man of athletic build, Mr. F. M. Healy soon established himself as a footballer of more than ordinary merit in the forward line of the Christian Brothers' team. He successfully represented Rockhampton and Central Queensland, and was recognised as one of the best towards of his day. His football activities were not entirely confined to the playing of the game. He took an interest in executive matters and was a member of the Rockhampton Rugby League and later secretary of that body. 
  He took an interest in all matters pertaining to the conduct of the R.J.C., and was elected a committeeman and subsequently judge of the meetings held at Callaghan Park. With one short interval, he acted for four years in that position and his sterling worth was emphasised by the President of the Club (Mr. A. C. Anderson) last night, when he said "Mick Healy was a man, in every sense of the word. He impressed racegoers with confidence and his decisions were never questioned."
