Alexander was born in 1913 in Monks Eleigh. Alexander's father was Frederick William WHYMARK and his mother was Emma Elizabeth PERCY. His paternal grandparents were Alfred WHYMARK and Mary Ann GALLANT. He had two brothers named Kenneth and Harry. He was the oldest of the three children.-
