Mary was born in 1810. Mary's father was Thomas NORTH and her mother was Lucy BURDON. She was an only child.General Notes

According to 'Diary of a Suffolk Woodman', Mary came from Thorpe Morieux. There are no recorded births for Mary North in Thorpe Morieux, nor can I find her on any census. However, her probable father is Thomas North married to Lucy Burdon, who was a soldier and travelled frequently. Married before 1799 he was a soldier who had children born in Suffolk, Norwich & Fochabers in Scotland. There are several gaps in years between the known children and it is likely that Mary was born in another location with the baptism as yet unfound.
Oct 1831 - Housekeeper of John Bird whilst at Folly Farm - made both Mary North and his other housekeeper Lydia Whittle pregnant at the same time - married Lydia.
