Edward MORTLOCK 
Edward was born on October 10th, 1802 in Shimpling. Edward's father was Abraham MORTLOCK and his mother was Mary PAWSEY. His paternal grandparents were Samuel MORTLOCK and Mary CLARK. He had three brothers and a sister, named Richard, William, John and Susan. He had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Peter, James, Elizabeth and Sarah. He died at the age of 77 on December 20th, 1879 in Shimpling.General Notes
On 2/2/1828 Edward was given 12 months hard labour for stealing barley. Twenty years later (15/1/1848) he was aquitted of stealing a quantity of iron.
In 1867 Edward charged George MORTLOCK and James CAMPIN with assault - they were fined but countercharged Edward, who was acquitted (25/6/1867)
