Elizabeth was born in 1780 in Stratfield Saye.  Elizabeth's father was John COX and her mother was Elizabeth GRANTHAM. She had seven brothers and three sisters, named John, William, James, Christian, Charles, Richard, George, Sarah, Harriet and Maggie.  She was the second oldest of the eleven children.
