Richard Richards was the sole executor of his father's Will, which passed probate 8 May 1823.
Richard continued to live at his father's pub, at the Fish Inn, Shocklach, and was recorded there in 1851. Inn Keeper and farmer of 50 acres. He retired and moved to Hampton, Malpas. Later, Henry Rogers was at the Fish Inn until he deid 1863.
He left his farm and lands to Jane Brereton (nee Hopley)..
1774 - 1863
Charles
Richards

WARNING: Dont confuse with Charles Richardson who married Elizabeth Pursell in 1901, another family.
Charles was left "£5 and a feather bed" in 1823.
His father, in his Will, left money to each of his children still alive, or to their children. However, there was no mention of Charles' children. It may be that Charles Richards and Charles Richardson are two different people, although birts tie in with the marriage.
Elizabeth, Charle's fitst wife must have died as Charles married another Elizabeth.
In 1841, Charles and Elizabeth (65 & 60) were farmers at Bronington, Hanmer, Flintshire with three daughters Sarah (25), Betsy (15) and Martha (14).
In 1851, Charles (76, widower) a retired farmer, was lodging with William and Martha Hales at Welsh Hampton, Shropshire.

Daughter Mary Battarbee is mentioned is her father's will, so she must have married a Battarbee. With such an unusual name, there is only one possible marriage!

Richards's will describes him as a Publican at the Fish Inn, Shocklach Oviat. He had to pay his sister Margaret Hopley, and each of her children £5 each from his fathers estate.
A Richards, possible the same person, also had the Emral Arms in in Worthenbury, Flintshire. Pricard brother-in-law Thomas Phythian farmed in Worthenbury, so this may be a connection.

Elizabeth

Elizabeth was sister of George, both whom married Charles Richards and Mary Richards (brother and sister),
Elizabeth probably had a younger sister Anne (b.1785) who also married in Worthenbury (18-Jan-1808).

In 1851, Charles and Jane (52 & 50) were farming 114 acres at Worthenbury. They had Elizabeth (24), Richard (20), Henry (14), Mary (13), Martha (11) and Frederick (8), as well as servants and Charles Richards (24, visitor)
In 1861, Charles and Jane (62 & 60) were at Worthenbury with Henry (25), Martha (21) and Frederick (18), and three servants.
In 1871, Charles and Jane (72 & 70) were retired farmers living at Worthenbury.
When Charles celebrated his 100th birthday at Worthenbury, with a telegram from Queen Victoria, he was quite healthy. He had been a keen sportsman, angler, and a successful farmer. He was also a smoker and fond of a drop of home brewed ale. He was presented with a handsome bible inscribed within the cover a list of over 100 of his descendants.
Charles became a bit of a celibately. He was recorded in a book and in 1901, the year of his death, a newspaper clipping celebrated his 102nd birthday with 182 descendants. There are probably a few more now!
In 1901, Charles, aged 102 was living with his daughter Ann Batterbee (72) at Worthenbury.
Charles Richardson of Wallington Lane, Worthenbury, Flintshire gentleman died 20 August 1901. Probate St Asaph 7 October to John Richardson gentleman. Effects £351 1s 8d.
