There was also a Walter Mather registered in Runcorn the same year. There is no 1916 Birkenhead GRO record from Walter Mather, but no doubt of his birth (see attached birth cert).
He died due to Alzheimer's disease, 1) Lewy Body Dementure. 2) Bowel Cancer, at the age of 89 on November 23rd, 2005 in
Bebington. The funeral took place on December 1st, 2005 at the
Landican Cemetery and was arranged by Coop Funeral Services. His cremation was on December 1st, 2005 at the
Landican Cemetery.

Walter Mather passed away peacefully on 23rd November 2005 after a long illness.
He probably died early evening, as Mum telephoned my about 9pm, while I was out with friends. He had only just been moved from the hospital two days earlier, so it was quite unexpected just then, although we knew his time was limited.
The cause of death was recorded as Lewy Body Dementure, but had also recently suffered from several strokes and also had bowl cancer.

Dorothy (Joan) Joan Dittmer
Dorothy, known as Joan, was born on January 20th, 1922 in
Tranmere and her baptism took place on March 25th, 1922 at
St. Paul's (Tranmere) conducted by Vicar Mason Pooley.

She died from cancer, Pancratic Cancer, at the age of 87 on August 25th, 2009 in
Arrow Park Hospital. The funeral took place on September 4th, 2009 at the
Landican Cemetery and was arranged by Charles Stephens, 215 Bebington Road, Rock Ferry. Her cremation was on September 4th, 2009 at the
Landican Cemetery.

- Mum died after suffering from Pancretic Cancer for four months. The final cause of death was a blocked bowel, which caused sickness and stopped her from eating. Inserting a stent was attempted at Arrowe Park hospital on Tuesday 12th August under general anesthetic. However, the tumor was obstructing the dudoneum, so an emergency stomach bypass operation was carried out on the Thursday. After four days, she was able to eat and drink again, but the sucess was short lived, and the bowel blocked again. She stopped eating on the Sunday 2 September and died about 11pm on Tuesday the 4th.
The funeral service was performed by David Nugent, my second cousin.
The note on the coffin top flowers read:
A dear mother, aunt, and friend who will be sadly missed by so many. Although departed from this Earth, she will remain in our hearts forever.
