    Treuddyn (Tryddyn) as a Coal Mining area about 6 miles East of Gresford, the site of a major coal mine disaster, which happened on 22 Sep 1934, when 266 miners lost their lives.  Perhaps this is why John left Wales after 1851 and moved to Hanley, Staffordshire.

Mary Howell
Mary was born on August 8th, 1831 in Llanbrynmair and her christening took place there on August 28th, 1831.^4 3

    Cannot find any Llanbrynmair births for 13-MAR but Mary Howell was born there in 1831

    I cant find a Mary Hopwood, who died aged 88.  Also, there is no Mary in Birkenhead in 1911, so maybe she died earlier.  She is not with any of her children in 1911, even though Arthur is still living in Birkenhead and single.
    
    There is a death in Birkenhead in 1904 which is a good match (although shoulkd be over 72 by then):
