    - James Inman was born in Richmond, Yorkshire on 22th July 1852, son of Dorothy and David a stonemason who died young.
      
      Recorded as aged 28 in 1881
  He died before 1908.

    - Ruth wasnt recorded as a widow in 1901, and there's no matching death records, so James Inamn probably survived beyond 1901.
      
      Cant find in 1901 census. Maybe remarried a Mary in 1892 and moved back to Yorkshire, but also believed to have run off to Australia.
      
      According to marriage record, died before 1908 when daughter Sarah Ellen Inamn married. Also 1902 when Ruth died, but an old aunt thought this may be wrong and James was simply missing!

      Ruth Mather was born on 2 August 1854 at 58 Chorley St. Her father John was then a time keeper according to the birth certificate.
  She died from a heart attack, pneumonia and and heart failure, at the age of 48 in November 1902 in Bolton. Her burial was on November 15th, 1902 at Tonge-with-Haulgh Cemetery.²¹

      The grave records dated 1873 are in the Inman/Foot family. The grave was bought originally for £2 by Elizabeth Mather in 1865 and is in Tonge and Haulgh cemetery (at the back of where Fred Dibnah used to live) Ref - 2:F:29NC There are 3 inmates buried as follows:
             25/3/1865            John Mather                 49 years
             15/11/1902          Ruth Inman                   48 years
             9/1/1908              Hannah Richardson     65 years
      There is no tombstone but we think it is next to the grave bought by John's brother George also in 1865 when his first wife died.
      
      Ruth died in 1902, aged 48 at 16 Osborne Street from pneumonia and and heart failure. She is buried at Tonge with 2 others in the same grave.

He first examined the Birkenhead News for January to March 1894. There were no references to two children dying in a fire or any other disaster. He then examined the burial records for Flaybrick Cemetery for the same quarter and found the following:

  Sarah was born on April 12th, 1884 in Birkenhead.³
  - Birth Notes
    
    1891 census records Sarah as being born in Bolton. However, the BMD birth record is at Birkenhead. This is consistent with the family moving to Birkenhead in mid 1884, and the birth was registered there, after they moved.
    
    In 1901, they are back in Bolton, living with older sister Hannah, and the records shows Sarah E and Margaret H were born in Birkenhead.
