Josiah was born on April 8th, 1828 in Broseley and his baptism took place there on April 8th, 1828.1 2  Josiah's father was Thomas Thomas and his mother was Mary Ann Burnett. He had a brother and two sisters, named John, Sarah and Mary.  He was the oldest of the four children.  He died at the age of 83 in 1911 in Birkenhead.3
