Martha was born in February 1713 in Kirkheaton and her baptism took place there on February 20th, 1713.1  Martha's father was Josias Stocks and her mother was Eliz Goodall. She had a brother and two sisters, named Samuel, Elizabeth and Mary.  She was the oldest of the four known children.
