General Notes
In 1529, Sir William Brereton married Elizabeth Savage, the daughter of Charles Somerset, 1st Earl of Worcester, widow of Sir John Savage, and second cousin to Henry VIII.
Elizabeth's first husband was the grandson of Sir John Savage, who had been a Lancastrian commander at the battle of Bosworth in 1485.
William and Elizabeth had two sons, Thomas and Henry.
Elizabeth and William were married in a religious ceremony in 1529. They had two sons named Thomas and Henry.
