  • David was orphaned and possibly disabled and not expected to marry, as he appears to have been supported by his grandfather, aunt Sarah and uncles in their Wills.  He is the son of Anne Tomlinson and David Roland (baptised 1792)
    
    In 1824, David Rowland, grandson of Randle Tomlinson, was left £20 in his Will (today worth about £2,500). He also died at Ridley Wood.
    
    After John Tomlinson died he lived with his aunt Sarah at Ridley Wood and she left hime everything.  However, both died in 1848, so Sarah's Will was administered by John Rowland (labourer of Marchwiel) and Thomas Hughes, an Inn Keeper at Marchwiel.
