Frank was born on December 18th, 1880 in Little Hulton and his baptism took place on February 13th, 1881 at St. Mary (Deane).1 2  Frank's father was James Robinson and his mother was Ellen Hibbert.  His maternal grandparents were Samuel Hibbert and Martha Smith. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, John, Samuel, James, George, Martha, Rachel and Ellen.  He was the second youngest of the nine children.
