William was born in 1831 in Bradshaw and his baptism took place on June 28th, 1831 in Tottington.1  William's father was John Ramsden and his mother was Betty Smith. He had two sisters named Mally and Alice.  He was the youngest of the three children.  He died in July 1831 in Bradshaw.  His burial was on July 9th, 1831 at St. Anne (Turton).2
