Thomas was born in 1799 in Worthenbury and his christening took place there on October 2nd, 1799.1  Thomas' father was Thomas Phythian and his mother was Suzannah Hallmark.  His paternal grandparents were Charles Phythian and Anne Falconer; his maternal grandparents were John Hallmark and Mary Hallmark. He had a brother and three sisters, named John, Mary, Ann and Jane.  He was the second youngest of the five known children.
