Richard was born in September 1822 in Atherton and his baptism took place on September 7th, 1822 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Leigh).1 2  He had a brother and a sister, named Thomas and Sarah.  He was adopted by Henry Caldwell & Martha Mather.  Richard is no longer alive.
