Peter was born in September 1839 in Warrington.1  Peter's father was Thomas Mather and his mother was Mary Bradshaw. He had a brother and two sisters, named William, Hannah and Eliza.  He was the second youngest of the four children.  He died at the age of 8 in December 1847 in Warrington.1
