Margaret's father was William Mather and her mother was Jane Lever. Her maternal grandparents were <male> Lever and Ellen Crompton. She had a brother and two sisters, named John, Ellen and Martha. She was the youngest of the four children. She died at the age of 75 in January 1956 in Bolton.³
