Joseph Mather

Joseph was born in 1644 in Radcliffe. Joseph's father was Richard Mather and his mother was <unknown>. He had two brothers named Richard and Samuel. He died at the age of 80 in 1724.

- Joseph Mather, the first representative of the family in Pennsylvalia, eas a weaver by trade and came, at the age of eighteen, with Phineas Pemberton, James Harrison and others from Bolton, Lancashire, England. They sailed from Liverpool in the ship "Submission", James Settle, Master, Seventh month 15th, 1682, and arrived at Choptank, Maryland, ninth month 2d, 1682 ...
