Johannes was born in June 1728 in Middle Hulton and his baptism took place on June 11th, 1728 at St. Mary (Deane).1  Johannes' father was Richard (Rade) Mather and his mother was Elizabeth Roebotham. He had a brother named Thomas.  He was the older of the two children.
