Elizabeth was born in 1862 in Berry Brow.1  Elizabeth's father was William Kaye and her mother was Elizabeth Wood(?). She had two brothers and a sister, named Shadrach, Albert and Adlena.  She was the second youngest of the four children.

‌Elizabeth and Henry were married in a religious ceremony on August 4th, 1890 in Huddersfield.2   They had three sons and two daughters, named George, Sidney, Fred, Annie and Dorothy.
