Henry's father was John Hunt and his mother was Betsey (Elizabeth) Mather. He had three brothers and four sisters, named James, John, Roger, Alice, Martha, Eliza and Elizabeth.  He was the youngest of the eight children.  He died in 1859 in Little Bolton.¹
