Jenita was born in 1603 in Darwen.  Jenita's father was Lawrence Howarth and her mother was Alice Holden.  Her paternal grandparents were Peares (Peter) Howarth and Jennet Livesey. She had three brothers and a sister, named Peter, Thomas, Richard and Elizabeth.
