Mary was born in 1741 in Shocklach and her baptism took place there on April 13th, 1741.1  Mary's father was John Hopley and her mother was Sarah Harris.  Her paternal grandparents were William Hopley and Mary Moyle. She had a brother and a sister, named William and Anne.  She was the youngest of the three children.
