- In 1851, Betty Hope (Head, Wid, 76) was farming 30 acres at Blackrod with her three unmarried sons John (53), George (51) and Henry (33) and niece Elizabeth Mather (26) and "nephews" (should be grandsons) George and John (24 & 22)
