Richard's father was John Hassall and his mother was Margery Jerius. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Henry, John, George, Maria and Catherine.  He was the third youngest of the six children.  He died at the age of 35 in 1676 in Nantwich.  He was buried on September 4th, 1676 in Nantwich.¹
