• General Notes

  In 1847 Edwin Halliwell (33), Bootmaker of Westgate, Halifax married Sarah Stocks (30) of Clover Hill, Skircoat, daughter of George Stocks at Holy Trinity, Halifax.  The later had their children baptised at St John's, Skircoat, Halifax.
  
  In 1851, Edwin, a Policeman, and Sarah (37 & 34) were at Green Terrace, Skircoat, Halifax with George (3), Thomas (2), Herbert (3 mo) and his mother Ruth Halliwell (71, born Halifax)
  
  In 1856, when Ruth was born, Edwin was a constable at Sklrcoat, Halifax.
  
  In 1871 Edwin Halliwell (57) was an “Invalid”, still with wife Sarah (54) and the youngest two daughters, but he had his mother-in-law Mary Noble (62, born Huddersfield). Mary Noble is actually Hannah's sister, so not quite a mother-in-law.
