Margaret was born in June 1885 in Toxteth Park.1  Margaret's father was James Houghton Edington and her mother was Hanziena (Annie) Alberdi Lampkin.  Her paternal grandparents were John Edington and Caroline Kirk; her maternal grandparents were Samuel Lampkin and Frances Margaret Fredericque VanDerLinde. She had three sisters named Lily, Catherine and Annie.  She was the second oldest of the four children.
