Bathsheba was born in June 1864 in Rawtenstall.1  Bathsheba's father was John Cunliffe and her mother was Jane Hargreaves.  Her paternal grandparents were George Cunliffe and Bathsheba Cunliffe. She had three sisters named Hannah, Elizabeth and Sarah.  She was the second youngest of the four known children.
