Mathew was born at Hall-i’th’-Wood and Married Margaret Mather daughter of Thomas, so a possible grandaughter of Solomon Mather.
Matthew was the son of William Crook, a Mill Wright.
In 1841 Matthew (20) was at Slope-o'th' Lane near Hall-i’th’-Wood with parents William and Sarah (55 & 50) a Mill Wright and 7 other siblings.
In 1851, Matthew and Margaret Crook (30 & 36) were at Spring Cottage, Radcliffe with no children.
