  Still alive in 1861, living with daughter Mary, Married, but his wife was elsewhere.  He must have been staying there because he was ill, if he died a week after the 1861 census.
  
  Probate shows his death (confirmed by his trade as a Joiner):
  Charkson Richard: 13 September 1861. The will of Richard Clarkson late of Liverpool in the county of Lancaster Joiner and Builder deceased who died 9 Apr 1861 at Broughton in the same county was proved at Liverpool by the oaths of Henry Clarkson of Bolton-le-Sands in the said county Gentleman and John Francis Clarkson of Broughton aforsaid Gentleman and brothers and the Executors.  Effects under £2,000.

  NOTE: This may all be wrong.  John Francis Clarkson was a farmer born in Grimsargh, and living in Broughton so not Richard's brother. Although Richard did have a brother John (much older than this one), there is no Henry.
